Water playground, Contwig
As part of the implementation of the tourism concept of Zweibrücken-Land, a 3000 m² water playground was built in the municipality of Contwig in 2015. This playground is intended to thematically complement the heated outdoor pool, which is embedded in an idyllic valley (Schwarzbachtal). The concept was inspired by the motif of shells on the beach in a lagoon landscape.
The main focus of the playground is the large water play shell with numerous Pumps, Damming Elements, Gates, Water Basins, Channels and a Forest Fountain. The smaller play shell offers sand play equipment. Similar to an arena, several cube seats are arranged in a circle surrounding the equipment. Great importance was attached to ecological concerns and the usage of materials typical of the area during implementation.
