We use certified wood for our playground equipment
Since we at Richter Spielgeräte GmbH are strongly committed to using natural resources in a sustainable manner, we only work with wood from certified timber suppliers. We take great care that the timber we purchase for use in our production processes has unequivocal proof of origin and corresponding certification.
Our company was awarded the PEFC CoC certificate for the first time on 24 June, 2015. We are taking this as a recognition of our sustainability concept and our company philosophy.
The Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) is one of the leading certification systems for sustainable forest management. The PEFC system was established by Scandinavian and Central European forest owners and representatives of the timber industry in 1998. Today, the PEFC system is used all over the word and is supported by environmental organisations and social associations.
The goal of the PEFC™ is to verify sustainable forest management along the entire supplier chain. This applies both to forest areas as well as products made of wood. Each individual company in the wood production chain from forest to the finished product represents an important link which is why companies can be awarded the CoC certification (Chain of Custody product certification). CoC certification facilitates end-to-end verification of the course of the wood along the entire production process, from certified forest stocks through the timber processing operations right up to the manufactured product.
