Lissy Boesen

Designer of play sculptures

Portrait Lissy BoesenIdeas come to me while observing the creative play of children on statues, uprooted trees, large stones and similar objects. You can see how they almost instinctively begin to climb. - Lissy Boesen

She describes her work for Richter Spielgeräte as follows: “They play 'cops and robbers’ or make believe the stones are a fortress. But places like these can be dangerous play places – there are many rough bits, sharp edges or protruding parts. Why not instead offer children concrete sculptures, that allow them to develop their powers of imagination and fulfil their desire to climb without any danger of hurting themselves?”
