Peter Keilbach
Born in 1960, Peter Keilbach studied product design at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd (university of applied sciences), held a lectureship at the Schule für Gestaltung Heilbronn (school of design) in Heilbronn for over ten years and was appointed to the jury for the Mia Seeger Prize. He has received numerous patents and design awards while working as a freelance designer:
He founded the “Keilbach” brand in 1999, which develops, manufactures and sells letterboxes, architectural elements, small furniture and accessories. In 2009 he founded the “keilbach fliegende häuser” brand.
Here he creates modern garden and tree houses from room modules.
“Reductionism is the principle behind my designs. Children and young people in particular should be exposed to uncomplicated but functional products. It is beneficial to their development if not too much is predetermined”, says Peter Keilbach about his ideas.
“The point is not for the designer to prove the creativity of their products in urban spaces but rather to stimulate the children’s own creativity.”
