Sergi Fernández Herrera

Industrial Designer

Sergi Ferández Herrera studied industrial design at Elisava Design University in Barcelona and completed his Bachelor of Arts with a major in design at the Southampton University in 1997. He then went on to do a Master’s degree in 3D animation at the ESI Design School Barcelona (1999/2000) before postgraduate studies in production engineering at the Fundación CIM (Barcelona university) in 2007 and 2008. He completed his training at the Benedito Design studio.

He founded the “ba” Barcelona arquitectura agency in 2000 and has been working on projects in the areas of product design and engineering since then. He is currently collaborating with numerous companies of international rank as a consultant responsible for design and production.

Designs in the Richter programme

Already during his course of studies, he realised projects from the most varied areas; for example technology, furniture, lighting, fashion, graphic art, play equipment, town planning, interior architecture and temporary architecture. He took on project management for street furniture for Expo 2008 in Zaragoza, the design of playgrounds for the Universal Forum of Cultures 2004, and furnishing the railway station of the AVE Spanish high-speed train system.
