Stainless steel sheets are curved into a U shape and then welded in this shape to a hollow tube, which serves as a resonator. When the U-shaped steel sheets are hit with a beater, a warm lively sound is created. The resonator is not just open at the top of the hollow tube but also at the bottom. If this opening is closed off with the hand, the sound volume can be increased or decreased and the resonance of the sound in the air can be experienced. This tuning makes it possible for everybody to immediately create pleasant sounds, without any disharmony.
