Odds Farm Park
High Wycombe / England / 2016
Popular destination for families
Odds Farm Park, the most popular family day out destination in High Wycombe, has expanded its play offering with the addition of a brand new Richter play area to complement the existing Richter water and sand play areas. As one of the largest farm attractions in the UK, Odds Farm regularly receives top ratings on Trip Advisor. Continuous new investment ensures that visitors return regularly. The management tries to expand the offer every year, and this year they decided to create an extensive adventure play area in collaboration with Richter and Timberplay. An area for toddlers developed by Richter and Timberplay was opened in 2013, followed by a sand and water play area in 2014. Thanks to the greater challenges offered by the new play equipment, the target group is being expanded to include older children.
The complex combination of play equipment has created a play focus with crossovers, rope bridges and slides, which should inspire children of all ages. There are also climbing walls, micro seesaws, bouncy boards and hexagonal swings. All of the equipment was selected with the large number of guests who visit Odds Farm on Sundays and public holidays in mind.
"The play area is extremely popular with the children, the feedback from visitors is excellent and the 'wow' factor is just as we imagined it would be."
Odds Farm Park was established 21 years ago near Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire in the south of England and, following annual expansions, is now one of the UK's largest farm attractions, attracting more than 200,000 visitors a year. The park is one of the most important members of the National Farm Attractions Network (NFAN).

Bison’s Bluff Nature Playground
Spring Valley / USA / 2016
Playing with natural materials
Bison's Bluff Nature Playground was designed to engage children in active and passive play in a natural environment. This unique, specially designed park primarily includes natural materials such as logs, boulders, sand and water. A visit inspires open and creative forms of play, similar to those of previous generations of children who were able to enjoy playing in meadows, forests and streams near their homes. The goal of Bison's Bluff Nature Park is to inspire children and young people to learn resilience, discover the benefits of cooperation and experimentation, and confidently shape the world around them. The Richter playground integrated here and opened in 2017 contains numerous exciting movement elements such as slides, climbing structures, triangular platforms and some platforms that are reminiscent of a multi-level tree house and have shingle roofs adapted to the park environment, as well as a sand and water playground that is particularly suitable for smaller children attracts and invites you to play imaginatively with the elements. What distinguishes a natural playground like this from a typical park playground is the fact that many of the play elements, such as the climbing structures, platforms and attachments, are made from natural materials. There are also numerous information signs to help children and parents make optimal use of the additional natural play options available.
H2Odds
Woburn / England / 2018
The water play area at Odds Farm Park comprises 500 square meters of water play area, 80 meters of canals, streams and pools as well as 28 different play features, including sluices, dams, an Archimedean screw and a water wheel. Instead of the typical 'splash pool', H2Odds offers a calmer, more intense play experience and is ideal for the park's target group (0-8 years). It is perfect for social and engaging play and brings different groups of children together for a shared play experience.
The water game has very few mechanisms as the children pump the water themselves, which helps them to understand scientific and mathematical principles.
Smale Riverfront Park
Cincinnati / USA / 2014
Richter Spielgeräte integrates the city's heraldic animal into an extensive playground along the Ohio River.
When the city of Cincinnati in Ohio/USA awarded the contract for the planning and implementation of the "Smale Riverfront Park" playground on the Ohio River to Richter Spielgeräte, one of the requests was to incorporate Cincinnati's heraldic animal as a theme. The fact that it is a flying pig, of all things, has a long tradition: in the decades after the city was founded in 1814, Cincinnati made a name for itself primarily with the production of cured pork. With the "Oinkithopter" play structure, Richter created a winged pig that can be climbed using a climbing net and whose belly is just as suitable as a place to relax and retreat as it is as a space for children's role-playing games.
Around this attractive attraction and in front of the city skyline, a world of play has been created on a spacious green area on the riverbank that will captivate children of all ages.
In addition to a wide variety of water play equipment such as Archimedean screws, numerous channels, weirs and pumps, where children can have fun pumping and guiding the wet element, especially in summer, wide, undulating slope slides invite them to have special fun and older children and teenagers in particular can test their sense of balance and dexterity on the rope structures that connect various play modules at lofty heights.
Several children can sit on the large turntable at the same time and either experience gentle movements or give themselves over completely to the centrifugal force. Of course, good balance is required for everything.

Darling Quarter
Australia / Sydney
A designer playground whose play equipment blends in with the surroundings
Although Sydney's newest district, the Darling Quarter, is located in the middle of the city, it offers plenty of space for leisure activities and recreation. The aim of this urban development project was to create a family-friendly urban space for living and working. The integrated park has proved to be a key driver for the development of the Darling Quarter. It is also home to one of the city's most exciting playgrounds. Its spacious water area was created on a concrete surface with a design reminiscent of ice floes.
The water is pumped, for example with the user-friendly "water dispenser", which even the very youngest children can easily operate. The water flows through channels between the "ice floes" and can be dammed and diverted here and there. It can then be transported back up again using the Archimedean screw and scoop fountain.
Arese Shopping Mall
Mailand / Italy
Enrichment for shopping arcade: Richter indoor playground
The fact that Richter not only equips conventional playgrounds but also designs indoor play areas can be seen, for example, in the "Arese" shopping arcade in Milan, Italy.
With an area of 92,000 square meters spread over 200 stores, restaurants, cafés and an indoor and outdoor sports facility, the Arese Shopping Center is the largest shopping mall in Italy. Here you will find a Richter play paradise, which attracts attention from afar thanks to its attractive centerpiece, a 13-meter-high pyramid tower. The tower is also equipped with a climbing wall, net windows and a huge tunnel slide with portholes. Next to it are spacious platform huts that can be climbed and explored and, with their niches, not only offer children of all ages a place to retreat to, but also enable a wide variety of role-playing games. There are child-friendly seating areas for painting, chatting and picnicking.
Fidenza Village
Fidenza / Italy
A play ship in the style of a Nile galley
Meeting the customer's wish to customize the playground of an outlet center in a very special way was an exciting challenge. The main attraction was to be a Nile galley. The large wooden ship was constructed in its characteristic shape and supplemented with elements such as a steering wheel and suspension bridge as well as various sand play modules.
The playground, which is perfectly visible from the outside area of the café, gives children a welcome break from tiring shopping activities. Depending on their mood, they can jump wildly or balance carefully on the wobbly beam and bouncy boards.
