A playground as a water laboratory

The research playground in the "New York Hall of Science" in Queens, New York, was Richter's first playground installation in the USA.

This unique playground invites visitors of all ages to learn about balance, movement, sound, optics, simple machines and the power of water through their own activities. A special highlight: in the large water play area there is a giant Archimedean screw. If you turn it, water is transported far upwards and then shoots down again, where it sets other stainless steel play elements in motion.
