Waterplayground Contwig
A water adventure playground
Shells on the beach in a lagoon landscape
Within the framework of the implementation of the tourism concept of the VG Zweibrücken-Land, a water adventure playground was built in 2015 on approx. 3000 m² in the municipality of Contwig. This is to complement the local leisure facilities with warm outdoor pool and Schwarzbachaue thematically. The concept takes up the motif of shells on the beach in a lagoon landscape.
The main focus of the facility is the large water play shell with numerous pumps, barrages and weirs, water basins, canals and a water forest. The smaller play shell accommodates a mud facility. Similar to an arena, several blocks of seats are grouped around the facility. Great importance was attached to ecological concerns and local materials during the implementation.
